Saw this on Saturday. Where? What were they doing?

I thought that HIE visitor moorings had a 15 ton limit.

Was indeed in Loch Goil. Saturday. I have no idea what they were doing, but it seemed to be very little. Crew were seemingly alternating on deck and below, perhaps getting some sun? They were just standing about on deck, sometimes sitting. (do you call it a deck on a sub?).
Sunday morning about 11:00 was seen heading past Roseneath and towards Gairloch (Why isn't that Loch Gair?).

Perhaps Loch Goil is an R&R place. Its marked on my old chart as "experimental area". Maybe it was an experiement to see who is nosey enough.?

When the subs come in from patrol, they go up firstly to Coulport to unload/load the important bits and then they go up Loch Goil and sit on a mooring until the tugs come back up and escort them back round to Faslane where they officially end their patrol. So I'm led to believe.
