So, it would appear that making your first post in reply to an old thread doesn't bump it up and as a result the post waiting approval marker doesn't appear on the board index.
I'll have to start visiting the moderator control panel more often since this seems to be the only place such posts are visible.

I'm just as guilty - I hardly ever visit the Moderator CP and assume I am going to notice the green 'post waiting approval' notice on a thread before it sinks 'below the fold'
