Depends which end of them you are looking at. Sunsets have been getting later for a wee while now. Good thing you got your message in before the world ends tomorrow.

Funny thing - If I go to bed late, the morning alarm seems to ring earlier.....

.
Shortest day tomorrow.

If the world ends at 11.20am as predicted by our friends the Mayans it will be the shortest day ever.

You need to get out more! North of the Arctic Circle at this time of year the days are so short they've disappeared entirely.

But 11.20 am where? That's already safely passed in Oz.

A better measure, as any serious navigagationist kno, is the sun's declination which will be at its southerly maximum mid afternoon today.

When I put the kettle on in mid summer - as the sun comes up, it comes up behind the tree in the field at the back. At this time of year it comes up 5 big window panes to the right

Of course, at this time of year I don't wait till sunup to get the brew on or I would be late for work......

The Danes tax daylight - the hours of darkness are at the lower rate.
