I'm A Jobbie

Post by Pete Cooper »

Well at least that's what my daughter keeps calling me. I like to think it's because after just over a year of unemployment I now have a full time permanent job to go to starting from Monday.
If that isn't the reason I will need to have words with her!

Isn't life unkind - you just get yourself a decent leisurely pace and then some pillock goes and ruins it by stitching you up with a job.

No justice!

.
Well done Pete.

I remember how great it felt when I got a job after just over a year searching and banging out endless CVs.

I am sure Amaranthe will be pleased as well.

Great news Pete although to be strictly accurate you are a mutinous jobbie.

Well done Pete, and your beautiful daughter is correct, you jobbie, but I will withdraw that accusation after you buy a affordable pint (no excuses now) at the christmas drink night.

So - after a month - how goes the job and have you perfected making the tea and doing the photocopying yet?

I finished my first 3 weeks on Friday and am enjoying it. It is strange going from somewhere where I knew more than the rest because I'd been there longer to somewhere where I have to ask someone with more experience on most issues. It's good to be back in work again, and good to be faced with so many challenges.
It felt good when during my first week another potential employer offered me an interview for a job, and I would have been a top candidate, and I was able to call them and knock them back.
I can now make the coffee, tea is too complex, and on a good day with the wind in the right direction I can work the photocopier.

As you will still be 'on probation' - I hope you were gentle when knocking them back.....
