The Scotch Whiskey Association......
I received an email invitation for RYA Gold Card members (those entitled to blue ensigns, perhaps?
) for free canapes and a "whiskey" sampling session at a reception in Kip Marina. As the RYA would be too well focussed on sporting achievement to go splashing members' contributions on free oblivion, I presume that the whisky trade will be promoting their wares, which, incidentally, constitute such a vital part of our fine nation's revenues. It would be ungracious to suggest that the RYA intend that the admittedly fine products of other nations would have priority.

Neither did this one, but I don't think that I have ever signed up for information via email. The magazine came through the letterbox recently but I didn't see an invite in amongst the advertising leaflets.DaveS wrote: Well this RYA Gold Card member didn't get an invite.
