Oh I don't know, the vegitation looks British, bracken, grass and that grass you get in boggy ground.

Add some white sand and you could be somewhere local, but I don't know where.

Traigh Gheal?
It doesn't get called that does it? We use the (what I assume is the) literary, colloquial name. We anchored there this summer, what a truly stunning stopover it is. Thanks for the reminder, I need to put the book on my kindle holiday list.

So your answer is yes... :D .

The colour of the water was misleading, especially when taking a dip.

AFAIR it was Traigh Gheal where we climbed a couple of shortish VSs on the crag at the back. Suspect they were FAs but didn't feel that they were wortth recording, although we did publish them in an Ochils MC newsletter about 25 years ago.

Incidentally there are some other very anchorable spots in the area like Knockvologan. Fabulous place.

Yes that neck of the woods is geomorphologically uninteresting, mucky,midge-infested,litter-strewn, and generally not worth dropping an anchor into the poor-holding gloop. :|

The bay just to the west of the south end of the Sound of Erraid?
