Quick trip to Tarbert.

Post by aquaplane »

I'm taking Mum to Tarbert on Friday to check Seminole over and start pre season jobs.
Since the boat was left in a bit of a rush without any real end of season jobs beeing done I don't know what to expect but I'm sure it'll be a busy W/E.
Fingers crossed for some decent weather and clear roads.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.

Annoyingly - the weather in Yorkshire is really sunny and dry - Ash should have been been up this weekend for a trip to Pugneys. :sailing:

Is it a nice day out there?

I've been stuck in a control room at the SECC since 07.30. I'm babysitting the lighting desk at the SNP conference.

Have a look on the web feeds, either multiple BBC cameras on the BBC website or a single camera shot on the SNP website.

Oh dear - I'd forgotten you were doing that this weekend. Well - I'll get outdoor chores done now that it's sunny - including opening the front hatch on Carousel. That frees up time later for sailing. Aquaplane is working like a busy thing, bashing cushions & pressure washing.

I'm glad to hear that your skipper is working hard.

I'm now in Shepton Mallet, near Bristol.

By Tuesday night I'll be in Aberdeen on a different job. (then the work dries up for a while)

Ash

Today, a 75 minute flight from Edinburgh to Bristol was 60 minutes late in boarding - tis madness.

If ever you need an extra pair of hands in the Aberdeen area, give me a shout. Dab hand with electric string!

Will keep that in mind. I'm not up there that often. I used to sometimes get some work at the AECC, but not for a while now.

I'm taking an 18T truck up to Ardoe House - I haven't worked there before.

Been at a couple of company "Away days" there. Lovely place.

The road getting there from Aberdeen is a bit narrow and twisty, so have fun with your 18T truck!

Will do - I'm told that the best bet is to stay on the A90 right to the r/about just before the Brig o' Dee, and then turn south on the B9077.

It's strange - I can find a picture of the building on their website, but can't find it on google maps / google street view, and the post code always points to a small cottage which I think is nearby.

Should be fine - I'm now driving up Tuesday afternoon for a Wednesday 7am access, rather than driving from the very early hours of Wed start so less time pressure.

Noooooo.

The flight still took the expected 75 minutes but started ( and finished ) 60 minutes later than scheduled / expected so I was an hour late on site.

That's definately the way to go.

When you get there, go up the dive in the photo, which is one way so you won't meet anything coming down.

Have fun!

Doesn't look like a dive to me - in fact it looks quite nice!

Found it, and I've managed to leave the truck in the top carpark.

I'm staying in one of these http://www.townandcountryapartments.co. ... stone.html

Very nice, though the taxi driver tells me that you can't hold a big party cos the floors ain't up to it - urban myth?
