Has anyone been to Ardrossan? I used to go down with my dad when he loaded bauxite onto the freighter there for transport to Widnes. I can assure you that Ardrossan is at least 1000% better with a marina than it was without!

Got to agree with that. And still improving. I even heard they are building a hotel there.
It did look good in the old days. Almost unrecognisable now

My grandfather was foreman in the shipyard in Ardrossan. He died in the early 20s, so my late father only had the haziest of recollections of him.
