Probably posh slimline shiney alloy tubes with conical tops instead of fat plastic covers.

Nah- plastic is the sensible choice. Stainless steel and aluminium together is not a happy mix.

Correct - but it seems fair to suggest that Ned must have had a bike and ventured North, no doubt to spread word of his doctrines.
It's clear to me that he found a rich vein of support in the Oban area, the evidence to support this observation is plain to see from comments and contributions to this thread
