Coastguard callout last night.

Post by garredfox »

A fisherman from Luing went to deliver his boat from mooring in Cuan to Toberonochy - ended up in Loch Melfort after engine failure. Rowed ashore and waited for rescue. He had no radio, mobile and was not wearing a lifejacket -coastguard found him at 01.15am - I wonder what they said to him!

By the way the second time he has had to be rescued.

Excuse my ignorance, but why did he need rescueing after rowing ashore? :?:

It's a long walk to Luing! Don't understand why he didn't go to the nearest house and phone. :?

I was told on another forum that the CG "Seastart" scheme didn't operate in Scotland. It would seem I was badly advised. :D
