Chentlemen's Cruise - end April

Post by Telo »

Just came back to e-world as the last YBW thread disappeared over the horizon. Anyone have a spare berth? I'm told that I may be allowed some leave from my cage for few days (good behaviour etc).

Advantages: can provide ballast, can cook modestly (mince 'n' tatties, mince 'n' couscous, mince 'n' poached egg, mince 'n' pasta, coq au vin, cullen skink, mince 'n' toast etc), has passable experience in these waters (boat still ashore - don't even ask!), has own safety gear etc.

Disadvantages: over 6', useless with a spinnaker, no racing experience, enthusiastic but hopeless player of mandolin, bazouki, guitar etc, is known to be fond of a dram.

Anyone prepared to take a chance?

Dave Simpson's kindly offered a berth. We're meeting up at closing time in Craobh on Thursday - that should be a laugh as we've not knowingly met before.

Sorry about your trials and tribs - aaaargh............ Notice you have Windseeker as a neighbour. We were tied up beside her at Rathlin a couple of years ago (or was it Easter 2004? - forget). Used to occasionally hear her on Ch16 when we were in Firth of Lorn.

Anyway, looking forward to w/e, and hope Auld Nick's Knees make it. Weather looks as though it may be bit mixed, so what's new?

Snap! Have PM'd you. Bet that's a first here too.

It could well have been Easter 2004 when you met Windseeker on Rathlin since she's come up from Glasson to Dunstaffnage via NI for the last two seasons.

Windseeker

Post by Telo »

Yup, think you're right, Easter last year. We were on our way from Largs to Dallens Bay, and Windseeker going north also. They left Rathlin a day or so before us and probably got a better weather window. We had to anchor up in the Eilean Dubh inlet at Carsaig Bay to avoid a 7/8, two anchors in the kelp.

Have PMed you re weekend.

Regards

Donald

Definitely worthy of some kind of award. Rip van Post rides again. It is one of the delights of BlueMoment that threads don't vanish overnight but this is really taking things a bit too far IMHO!

See that deja vu. Not worth a candle. Believe me.
