Anchored in the pointy indentation next to Sailean Mor ) of the top of Oronsay) on night one due to two 45ft blue ensign MoBos making merry in Sailean Mor, then Loch Moidart behind Riska - very nice. In Plockton last night, maybe off to Raasay after lunch.

Couldn't help noticing that StuffDannage was infested with huge MoBos and that there are always loads in Tobers now - the plague is spreading.

There seems to be lots of islands called Oronsay, but I eventually worked out that you were in Loch Sunart. Did think that south of Colonsay seemed off route.

That's Sailean Mor from the N:



On gogle Earth the notch to the left of it looks great but it doesn't make the 1973 CCC Blue Book as an anchorage. Navionics don't name it or mark it as an anchorage. Jeppersen don't name it or mark it as an anchorage. The OS map doesn't name it at 25,000 or 50,000.

Given all that I guess Nick gets to name it.

No, I've got a better idea. It must have a name. I challenge Blue Momenters to find it.

now, if that chimney is still there.... Perhaps BoobyTrapper would like to test this route behind Horse Island, I did it without a chart in the 60's, but that was when I was stupider than I am now. (it was a center-boarder as well)
Come to think of it I don't remember any perches either last time I was in there to tow out a broken fishing boat.

It's got a name on the chart I used - Sailean something-or-other, can't remember, more if I ever get internet access while on board. Kathy's Cove sounds good to me.

Drifty sail with a couple of bursts of engine over to Raasay on Tues, anchored in Churchtown Bay inshore of the moorings in about 2.5m, had a wet walk up the Burma Road yesterday.

Came into Portree yesterday evening, quick shop, heading off to Acarseid Mor or Fladday later, Gairloch tomorrow wind gods permitting.

No blog this year, will write up the cruise when we get back.
