Watermota J-type gearbox manual

Post by Nick »

.
Just to let you all know that it looks as though I will have to remove this manual from the Downloads section after receiving the following e-mail from Sheridan marine, who sell the manual for £9.99 .

The manual was uploaded in March last year, and is a PDF created from a photocopy of an original manual. Which one of you naughty people sent me it?

ENQUIRY_DETAILS: Dear Sirs

It has come to our attention, through one of our customers, that the Watermota J-Type manual is available through your website, http://www.bluemoment.com as a downloadable PDF (http://www.bluemoment.com/manuals/Water ... manual.pdf).

As a polite request could you please remove this from the internet with immediate effect as this manual, along with associated trademarks, is the property of John Freeman (Sales) Ltd. and is still in publication and governed by UK copyright and distribution laws.

Please contact us if you have any queries.

Many thanks for your co-operation.

Not me Nick, but thanks for bringing it to my attention. I would hate to think I had transgressed, and I feel cleansed for you pointing that out.

Of course, if individuals wish to send each other PDFs they have made of their own manuals there is very little anyone can do about it :D

I have now removed the link to the manual.

Interesting. I wonder what the copywrite cost per copy is, as it could conceivably be collected per download ( like sound MP3 thingies) and would be a hell of a lot cheaper than £9.99...
As it's a '50's box, it'll probably be going out of copywrite soon anyway.
http://trooncruisingclub.org/ 20' - 30' Berths available, Clyde.
Cruising, racing, maintenance facilities. Go take a look, you know you want to.

I've only got their word that it is their copyright - anyone know where you can check?

This is the place. There is a 70 year duration on the product usually, I believe.
