Stornoway Coastguard are seeking information about the yacht Solitare and its owner Neil Mackenzie (59) who is overdue from Arisaig. The vessel and its owner had been moored in Arisaig and visiting various lochs on day trips. The lone yachtsman last made contact with family on Tuesday 14th September and the alarm was raised last night.
The vessel is 30ft long with a green hull and single sail. The name marker on the back of the yacht says Solitaire Canada.
Stornoway Coastguard Watch Manager Murdo Macaulay said:
“We’ve searched overnight in all the obvious places but haven’t found Solitaire. Because the vessel was doing short day trips there is no clear route for us to search along so we’re asking people to let us know if they have seen a small green hulled yacht or its owner in recent days.
“Anyone with information should phone Stornoway Coastguard on 01851 702013.”
