What is it?

Post by Silkie »

(Well OK you can guess where too if you really want but) I thought that afficionados of sailing arcana might be interested in the unusual object adorning the rigging of this fine ship.

No idea. Some kind of anti alien radar device? Matt black so Dr Who can find it with his Sonic screwdriver?

The fact that Silkie hasn't been attacked by aliens proves it's working.

Well at least you haven't been snapped not only topless but sans life jacket, I'm suprised someone hasn't kicked off about that piece of irresponsible behaviour.
Seminole.

Not Kilchoan. It was a CC stopover a few years ago.

Correct.

It's the first time I've anchored right in the middle of the entrance to a harbour (well sort of) which was why I decided to wipe the mould off the anchor ball and give it a bit of an airing. When Lord of the Isles put in an appearance later I was quite glad I'd dotted the i's and crossed the t's.

It might not have made much difference whilst swimming ashore (or being minced by the bow thrusters) but the insurance company would have been pleased.
