RYA training

Hello everyone
Me and my husband have bought recently a Medusa 25 and we want do RYA courses now.
My husband has 10 years sailing experience, but only in Poland on lakes. We are planning to sail at sea as well.
Does he have to do Day Skipper course first or can he do Coastal Skipper straight away? And can he do only theory course to pass exams?
Other question for people who live near Leeds or in West Yorkshire, where is the best place to do First Aid course? Local colleges don't do it anymore and a club where we are going to do skipper and radio courses doesn't offer first aid courses.

I would recommend doing Day Skipper - theory first then the practical. While you may have a good grasp of the mechanics of sailing the navigational skills needed at sea, plus knowledge of tides etc, mean it will still be a fairly steep learning curve.
