Last minute rush?

Post by puddock »

Am I the only one to be blessed(???) with a sudden rush of work in the first few months of the year, leaving little time for getting the boat ready for the water?

From mid-January I have had no more than 4 days off in a row, resulting in a backlog of jobs (thankfully nothing major) to be done before launching :x
Get home on Saturday then it'll have to be a mad dash down to Dunstaffnage for 4 or 5 days frenzied activity before she goes in... Such a relaxing hobby isn't it?

Four days off in a row? I dream of that . . . .

I suspect all the pre-launch and fitting out work on Fairwinds will be carried out on the Chentleman's Cruise - bring your toolboxes chents!

Ron

I may see you, but not much time for a chat! If weather holds fair its rub down and antifoul this weekend plus install some new genoa sheet winches and pulley sheaves in the masthead. Tango Too may go into the water next week, but I need to be a bit lucky with the weather. The "spring clean" below will happen when she is afloat :)

"4 days off in a row" does not, unfortunately, equate to 4 FREE days ....... Mrs Puddock usually has her 'list' ready for me coming through the door.
Then there is the small matter of the 4 hour drive down and 4 hours back.
I either need to get my boat East or my house West ..... Moving West seems to be the more appealing option at the moment - sorry Nick

What fitting out is needed? Run out of biscuits? I can help re-creosote the toerail or check the emergency doilies if you like? Probably best to leave the bigger jobs like unjamming the solidified sugar bowl etc till later.
