Hello again,

Sorry this one is so late again, it’s a busy time here.

Lots of orders coming in for books and DVD’s, and don’t forget that if you would like yours by Christmas the last recommended ordering day is Sunday 20th December.

Oh yes, Sailing Weather School Part 1 is now full, but I am taking expressions of interest in the next date, which will probably be in March. So if you would like to come along, please email me at simon@weatherweb.net. More information is at http://www.weatherschool.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Onto the weekend forecast, and if you know anyone who’d like to receive this email each week just tell them to send a request to join to
sailingweather-subscribe@weatherweb.net

I may not get chance to issue a forecast next week, and so, just in case, may I wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

Have a good one,
Simon

WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
Issued: 1500 Friday 18th December 2009

SATURDAY:
The flow is going to be turning to the northwest through Saturday. A cold front moves south through Scotland in the morning, and then into Ireland and northern England through the afternoon. A weak occluded front over southern England will be fading away.
A band of snow associated with the cold front will be moving through northern and central Scotland on Sunday morning. Some patchy drizzle and sleet ahead of it over northern England and Ireland, whilst the south of the country stays fine.
The afternoon sees the snow slipping into northern England and Northern Ireland. Cloudier skies and some sleety drizzle for western hills and coasts of England and Wales, but drier to the east.
Winds will be mainly from the NW 5-12kt (F3-F4), becoming N behind the cold front later and increasing N-NW 12-20kt (F4-F5).

SUNDAY:
Low pressure will be slipping into Scotland today. An occluded front clearing the southeast in the morning.
Snow showers tending to turn heavier and more persistent across Scotland and Northern Ireland with periods of continuous snow at times. There will be snow showers over northwest England, Wales and the western facing coasts of southwest England. A few will be making it inland, and these could be heavy at times.
For most of southern and eastern England the day should be dry and bright with sunny spells, although it is going to be feeling cool.
Winds from the WNW to NW at 12-15kt (F4-F5) but 20kt (F5-F6) in western Scotland and Northern Ireland.
