from Steve Wright in the afternoon on BBC radio2:
'There are squillions of bacteria per square inch in your toilet bowl.'
Nothing new there then, except that today's tip is to close the lid when flushing in order to keep them off your toothbrush.
Which takes me to the point: another unlisted tick in the box for my Lavac which won't flush any other way.
With apologies to British Seagull:

I am sure that I have read that there are more bacteria on the surface of an average desk than there are in the average toilet.

And considerably more in the average human gut (about 1.5kg!) than on both put together. The key is keeping the different types where they belong.

That's an Old Wives tale, recently exposed on TV (Breakfast time?) and also by Mythbusters. Probably on Snopes, but I can't be bothered to look.

I am incognito. I have no idea why it died or even what it was now.
The old wives' tale is the bit about spray from the loo contaminating your toothbrush - or any thing else in the bathroom.
