A thought prompted by a post from earlier in the week........

Ref the last item on the list:

Can you get it on Ebay?
If I have a broadband-radar, plotter, AIS equipped cockpit with at least 4 repeaters mouted in sufficient pods to block out the sun & keep me dry during a scottish summer, what transducer or ariel do I need to get a my commonsense-ometer to work properly?
If I do get some, can I keep it in a wet sporran?
Is it painful to administer to someone who doesn't have any?
Is a "modicum" the correct measure?

I've never had a modicum of anything, including alimony payments.

In fact, I think modicum is a myth.

I either have loads, or none. Like wind for instance.

You can get anything on Ebay, unfortunatly common sense isn't that common and is expensive compared with say, the sixth sense.

For such a meter you are best to use a wireless system, a 100 amp hour deep discharge battery should be sufficient for each node.

A wet sporran is the best storage device. Unfortunately wet sporrans are in short supply, dry sporrans are found in the lee of large bellys and seldom see much weather.

It's not at all painful to administer common sense, wrap it round a 6' length of 4"X2" and beat the deficient subject, you will hardly feel a thing.

A "modicum" is an SI unit, it replaced the Imperial smidgin.

I am fairly sure that common sense is measured is ounces qv "anyone with an ounce of common sense would realise that...." and you might have noticed that most things realisable with an ounce of common sense are also understood by anyone with "half a brain". Sooo, a entire brain is equal in value to just two ounces of common sense. The racing fraternity have long recognised this and many of them have had weight-saving lobotomies such that they now have no brains, just two ounces of common sense, and a rulebook.

But those of us who do dinghies have to keep all weight up top, and sometimes even wet our jersies to balance the boat. So full brainweight and long hair are de rigeur.
As opposed to those who think a row of yellow wellies makes a good mobile ballast.
Which makes most sense?

If they ever make protective headwear mandatory, I can forsee different weights for different conditions being available to trapeze artists...
The lead ones(>F8) will probably need hydrostatic release, I think.
