CCC Sailing Directions, Martin Lawrence and Hamish Haswell-Smith are all worth getting hold of.

Very flattering of you to use the term 'similar' rather than the rather more approprate 'infinately better'!Silkie wrote:In a similar vein, Penguin Bolt Holes with a contribution or two by our very own Shard.

Oboesailor,
I have attached two .pdf files to an email to the contact address on your website. They are US Navy sailing directions for the West Coast and for the Inner Clyde.
Although they are old and under no circumstances should be relied on for navigation, there are some useful snippets such as tidal flows, waypoints and coastal headland profiles which might occupy an hour or two on passage.

Dave of this parish has a good blog of his sailing around the west coast here : http://www.yotblog.co.uk/DaveS/archive/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My limited comment? (We have only had our boat based in oban for the last three seasons) is that the area is big, there is a lot of coast line, there are a lot of great anchorages, the islands are all very different. I don't think you will leave thinking you have "done it".
