RNLI Action

Post by Mark »

Felpham Sailing Club ran an RNLI 'Demonstration' tonight. There was supposed to be a helicopter which, for the second year, didn't show, however there was a bit of thrashing fast boats around.

Which was nice. :-)

I borrowed SHMBO's camera and the results are here:

Some dull video:

The boats are:

That dull video gives a bit of the impression of speed. I would like to think that if I was waiting for them to turn up they would "get a wiggle on" as we say round here, and they obviously can.

The Northern Air Ambulance was supposed to turn up to the Windermere air show on Saturday. It got diverted to an incident where a cyclist got injured on Dunmail Rise, between Grassmere and Thirlmere, so I don't think anyone was bothered about the no-show.

It's good to know these folks are about, even if you do all you can not to need them.
Seminole.
Cheers Bob.

Funnily enough, on Friday night, a friend did need a tow in from 'Voluntary Worker'. Another of life's coincidences.

Same thing this year, except the chopper turned up.
