I am a little concearned, the unit confirms it is transmitting but, AIS liverpool appears to have a blank spot around Croabh, I would be interested to hear from anyone who has a receiver in that area so that I can check.

Well, I have a receiver in Craobh, but I'm currently in Falkirk so possibly not much help.
I think that Liverpool AIS does have blind spots. I often look at their North Channel display - usually lots of activity. The fast ferries can often be seen leaving Stranraer and proceeding slowly up Loch Ryan whereupon they disappear, re-appearing ten minutes later at the loch entrance doing lots of knots!

It will be interesting to see if DaveS's receiver sees you.
I would imagine that AISLiverpool relies on 'locals' who are prepared to pick up signals within their VHF range and upload them to the site. On the west coast there are likely to be more holes in the VHF coverage and less individuals involved.
I also assume that your transponder is Class B - but don't know if this affects the likelyhood of being reported - I realise that BBH was seen when in the Clyde.

Yes but what intregued me was that the last reported signal was in Kip at around midnight, her ais was on when she went up and through the canal yet there is no record.
With a little luck I will be off for a few days sailing later in the week and will see if I re appear on AIS Liverpool in the Firth of Lorne or Sound of Mull!

A little further research leads me to believe that you may be correct, the disappearance of BBH from AIS Liverpool neatly coincides with her AIS profile being changed from Pleasure Vessel to sailing vessel, perhaps the people who upload ignore sailing vessels.
