Beautiful snaps of Donegal - brought back many happy memories of those waters. Thanks for posting.
Incidentally when we rounded Malin Head in 2005 and were crossing the mouth of Lough Swilly bound for Sheephaven, we saw two erormous basking sharks feeding quite close by -wonderful sight!

No wonder the Spanish armada werent successful in getting ashore on most of Irelands beaches, imagine been pelted with those rounded stones by hundreds of charging Celts.
I see the sunken trawler still in situ off the pier - we were warned about this hazard to navigationon our visit to Fanny's Bay in 2005.
If the OP would like to leave his boat in a secure location for a week, Fannys Bay is a great option. Ballycastle Maina is very handy coming from the Clyde and Rathlin of course is charming. My inclination would be not to go to far west in the short cruise time planned. Lough Swilly has beautiful beaches and Portsalon is an excellent pull in for hospitality. The marina at Fahan is a good refuge if required but is a long way in.
tides are very strong around Rathlin so have your homework done beforehand.
