Hello again,

Things are looking hectic here tomorrow, hence the reason for issuing this forecast on Wednesday evening. I hope it is still useful for you.

Weatherweb.net has been updated and now carries many more forecasts. I am working on adding more too. There are now:

• 5 day sailing forecasts for the UK, Ireland, France and the rest of Europe including the Mediterranean and the Canaries updated 3xdaily
• Wind grids for the UK and Europe updated every 3-hours
• Our own frontal charts updated daily
• Month Ahead and Seasonal forecasts
• Weather maps updated throughout the day
So if you haven’t visited lately see http://www.weatherweb.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click on ‘Sailing’

High pressure is going to continue to be the main feature of the weather through the weekend, although there will be some cloud floating around at times. I suspect that visibility could be a bit of a problem too with plenty of hazy around thanks to the light winds.

Onto the weekend forecast, and if you know anyone who’d like to receive this email each week just tell them to send a request to join to sailingweather-subscribe@weatherweb.net

Best wishes,
Simon

WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
Issued: 2100 Wednesday 18th March 2009

SATURDAY:
A ridge of high pressure extends through the British Isles on Saturday as a warm front travels southwards down the North Sea. The effect of this is to maintain fairly moist air across all parts of the country.
There will be widespread mist and some fog patches around on Saturday morning, these slowly lifting but tending to leave conditions hazy for many of us through the day.
There will be an area of cloud through northeast England and possibly East Anglia associated with the warm front and cloud also moving into the north and west of Scotland in the afternoon.
Elsewhere as the mist and fog lift they may turn to low cloud for a time, before this too breaks. All parts of the country will be dry.
Winds will be a light N to NW’ly 4-10kt (F2-F3).

SUNDAY:
Another warm front is going to be moving through Scotland during today, this one more active than Saturday’s and it may bring some outbreaks of rain or drizzle to more northern areas, as well as fog over the hills. Generally though the high pressure remains in control and is centred to the west of Ireland.
Plenty of dry weather around for much of England, Wales and Ireland, and again there will be mist and fog patches through the morning. These slowly lifting as the morning progresses to leave most places fair, although hazy. Little change is expected through the day.
Winds will be rather variable 2-5kt (F1-F2) in the south, becoming W 5-8kt (F2-F3) through northern England and Ireland and then SW 20-25kt (F6) over northern Scotland.
