Bargain at Duncan Chandlers

Post by ash »

This seems an even better bargain than the £0.01 dinghy at Compass.

Danbuoy for £0.00

Some time ago compass24.com made a mistake and advertised dinghies for a penny. Lots of people ordered them but never got them, I think they received a floating key ring as conciliation. I believe as an online retailer they can enforce a disclaimer and cancel the order.

So it wasn't a lure, just a mistake. No doubt the IT director will get the blame, as usual.

I'm sure that Mr Duncan will send you one of these FOC for your trouble.

Freebie

I was wrong about the Compass Dinghy - it was priced at £0.03 -( instead of £300, I assume ). I tried to find the thread, but it must have been in the Lounge - did find find a couple of posts about the free gift, but the main thread was beyond the 200 post mark. Would have needed to find a less prolific poster but you don't find many of those in the Lounge unless they're a newly registered Troll.

I will try not to fall overboard from the good ship Sahona during the S'Butt2009 since the purchase was cxl'd.

Why are Danbuoys all so (relatively) expensive - you could get a chunk of electronics for the same money - even a replacement flag is overpriced. I keep meaning to buy a flou safety vest from the Poundshop to chop up and make into a flag.

Just chandlers in general. I was browsing last weekend and spotted a 5 litre plastic fuel container for £6 exact same one in Tesco for £2.

There is only Iain, Kenny, Willie, or Natalie, and I dont think any of them read it.
I have to say they are actually a good bunch of guys, and I have always foung them to be very helpful, and can be known to give generous discounts to good customers, hence the reason I get most of my stuff from there.

Ah, some pal you are Eamonn.
Now I'll get done for attempted shoplifting and my name will be blackened all over the West Coast.
They probably won't send the stuff I've ordered and ALREADY paid for now!

By the way, did you read about the battery explosion on TOP? How's the Eber installation.....................?

And finally, next time we walk into Duncan's they'll all be crowded round the computer so it'll take ages to get served.

Dont worry Bill, just say you know me and you will be welcomed with open arms, though there might be a baseball bat in each hand

Ebers fine, solved the batt vent problem by connecting the vent hose to the combustion air intake on the heater, well whats the point in wasting good Hydrogen

All joking aside, is it feasable to have a gel acid batt and a lead acid batt in the one bank, or should it always be two of the same?

Two the same type, in fact we used to get matched sets for UPS duty in the days when I was gainfully employed.
Gel and wet have different charging requirements, so either one would never fully charge, or the other would be overcharged (assuming of course, they are wired in parallel.).

Thanks Bill, also had a thought today, I have a BM1 monitor on my domestic bank which is only suitable for lead acid type batts.
Cheers, C_W
