I went along to mcdonalds to post hear and check email.I logged in "mcdonalds AT ptwifi.pt pass mcdonalds Message "contact 800 ?? ?? ??" mcdonalds no longer offer open wi-fi you must have a monthly 3G account (240€ for 1 giga pm)
pt telecom have adverts in shopping centers to "buy vouchers" for wi-fi accsses.
I photographed the advertising board went along to pt telecom shop,took a ticket waited they spoke good English.They said "we dont sell vouchers" i showed them their advert.They called their center "we dont have any information about vouchers"??They offered me 3G
Those that have adsl in their home can have a password to accsses 2 giga shopping center wi-fi pm SNAG no one has a working code.I asked to use the adsl at freinds they said "it dosnt work" i tried you have "connection" but you cant get online??
They then i got the help line phone number.No matter when we call its occupied.
As in France many Portugese are cancelling their adsl after the 12 month contract others are keeping it for the TV
I think telecoms want us to pay for their 3G they all have offers between 7€ and 19€pm weather people have read the hard to find small print giving the real price i dont know,but agents selling 3G say they dont have people signing up.
WI-fi ended in Portugal Mcdonalds was the last place to offer wi-fi,Being mcdonalds no doubt it was PT telecom that wants to push their 3G Mcdonalds admits it dosnt offer internet accsses
What about an sms forum????Today i have no idea how i will accsses the internet to check email??Pactor is very good but it is slow though just having internet at anchor made it worthwile but if i were to go for pactor heqr today it would be expensive and you do need a licence
