Looks really good, been a long difficult job but it may be all worth it , I hope so. Will be interesting to see wether the passenger bridge works well.
Looking forward to finding out for myself.
We can't change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our sails.

Not realy sure. I've never noticed it when I've been there, it just looks like some some of covering to the pier. I'll try to remember and look next time I go.
Spoke to someone at Bute Berthing Company today I was enquiring about annual berthing charges. He told me that they do not have any info on opening times or charges as they do not know which tender for running the new facilties will be accepted by the council and they don't know yet who will be running it.

Good pics.
HNY, C_W.
Believe it or not it is the old Taxi Stance. This used to be on the road leading to the victorian toilets, but was lifted in sections by a crane to the entrance with the new bridge.
Just a point of interest, the old bridge leading over to the pier was hit in the late seventies and the mechanism damaged apparently beyond repair. My great grandfather, James Donald, built the original bridge and designed and installed the swing mechanism.

Yes Ian, Davy was in for a coffe the last time I was there, (Tarbert music fest wk end) and he was saying that there was a tender going out but wasent sure if they would get it.
I would have thought there wouldent be any doubt as to who would get, but one never knows.
Anyone know who else tendered for it?
It would be a shame to loose a good character like Davy.

The inner harbour depth is 2m below CD at the entrance and in all areas south of the most northerly pontoon.
Between the Northerly pontoon and the Northern Wall the bottom shallows from 2m below CD to half a metre below chart datum over a 5m wide berm adjoining the North wall and the North East corner.
In other words, turn left when entering the inner harbour.....the bottom is loose sand.
Do you mind if I use one of your photos of the inner harbour on the berthing website for a wee while? If OK I'd like to give an acknowledgement eg Phot courtesy of ......... What name?
