I certainly hope not! There's nothing wrong with sensible dissent and debate. OK, perhaps JJ doesn't do that, but at least he's entertaining.

I've trimmed the end of this thread up a bit as it was getting pointless - and if you don't like that Donald then sorry but it is my perogative, I never said this was a democracy.

JackJ is obviously a wind-up merchant and I suspect he may even be Jimi. In any event, as far as I am concerned owners of large motor yachts are not part of this site's target audience, have nothing in common with the people this site was created for and are - to put not too fine a point on it - a waste of bandwidth. It is really no more appropriate for JackJ to be posting on here than it would be (for example) for Donald to be posting on a caravan forum with the specific intent of winding people up.

People like JackJ - real or not - are part of the problem, not part of the solution and I am certainly not obliged to give them a platform on a sail cruising website. They will therefore have to expect short shrift if they appear on this board posting annoying drivel specifically created to wind up WAFIS. YBW's Lounge is the place for that, not here.

Simon, thanks for an interesting and relevant post - as our resident weather guru you of all people are qualified to comment on these issues with a little more understanding than most. You must have known you would attract the usual fringe element though.

While it is undoubtedly true that climate change is of enormous relevance to sailors it is not the primary focus of this web site. You may all be interested to know that there is a forum on another one of our websites which exists specifically for the discussion of climate change. Jack, if you really feel strongly about the issue you are very welcome to register for it and argue the truth or otherwise of climate change theory there as much as you want.
