The walk to the pub from Puilldobhrain (apologies for the spelling) looks a lot shorter than it seemed when we were there.

Never far to the pub, but the walk back across the hill in the dark always seems to take longer for some reason

Tis, indeed, With the Island of Kererra behind, and Oban to the right, Bach Island to the left and you can just make out the entrance to the Sound of Mull in the top left.

I've only sailed there once, but I must have dived in at least 10 different places in that photo.

Hi Eamonn,

The bridge is about 2 miles from our house and the pub beside it is our local.

I was anchored in Puilladobhran almost exactly a year before we moved over here in May 2003 (a delivery for someone, not Fairwinds) and was sitting at the end of the bar remarking 'I wish this was my local'. Little did I know that a year later it would be.

I now know where we are going for our long week cruise next year, sod NI, its your local.
Do I need to take a kilt to change into before going into the pub?
Incidently what is the name of the pub?

The pub is called the Tigh an Truish, which translates from the Gaelic as 'House of the Trousers'. After the Jacobite Risings when kilts were banned, the islanders were reputed to change out of their kilts and into trews here, when going the mainland.

Maybe you could join us, there might even be a bottle of the creature, as it is sometimes known.
Pity about the 2 mile walk back to yours for supper after though.
