The second week of our holiday is all organised and booked.

We're going to cruise part of the West Coast, courtesy of Cal Mac and the car.

Sunday 3 August - Tarbet, Loch Fyne then 2 nights on Islay, 1 night on Colonsay, and 3 nights on Mull. Some nights B+B, rest hotels.

Yes and No.

It was great to see some of the places that you guys talk about.

Any move would need the full co-operation of my crew ( ie, it would need to be her idea )

The trip around the islands was fully the idea of the crew, without any prompting from me so I look on that as a good sign.

Watching Sunshine beating out of Scarasaig gave my crew some concerns.

Watching the speed of the water through the Sound of Islay filled us both with trepidation! I know that it must go slack before it changes direction but any time I looked it was running like a river even when it looked like high water. The guy on the ferry reckons it runs at 8 knts at springs.

Next year the crew wants to go on a 2 week flotilla in Greece with Sailing Holidays Ltd, again wholly her idea.

We'll get there - promise.
