Regular crew wanted

Post by Silkie »

Having done it for years now, I've finally decided that I'm not a natural single-hander.

So I'm looking for regular crew who, while it is accepted that they will have other commitments, will want to sail on Silkie at every available opportunity. Naturally this will involve a compatibility test so if I've not met you and you don't have a substantial body of posts you may fall at the first hurdle.

I realise that most of the members here have their own boats and that this is a largely futile thread but wanted to make the statement anyway.

:sailing:

PM or email in the first instance, if you're daft enough.

You may need to get someone drunk in the clubhouse the night before & shanghai them. Or drag someone off the quayside as they try to help with your lines.

I often find there's a gaggle of kids shouting from the quay wanting to come with me. I sometimes wonder what would happen if I took some & found a decent set of overfalls to play in. I suspect it would cause a lot of trouble & need a lot of paperwork to sort it all out. Probably get me on the sex-offenders register too, for kidnapping them . . .

 Not so many opportunities for innocent fun these days are there?
