Post by DaveS »

  • The was a young man called MacHurley,
    Who was polite, and never surly;
From the pub he did slink.
And fell in unilluminated Craobh Haven drink,
And he's called something like Silkie.
Sorry folks, doesn't scan....

A bunch of rough jocks on a site,
Made up poems that were really quite shyte.
A southerner saw them,
though crying with boredom,
he added his own and took flight.

Maybe, instead of further hijacking Dave's thread, this might merit a wee thread of its own.

So, while the Balvicar Barnacle is away, swanning around in far-flung places, maybe the Aged Retainer can be persuaded to fiddle about with the phreds.

Just think, "The BlueMoment Haiku"......

( Did I hear cries of 'Lavish prizes! Lavish prizes!'? )

:beer

Here's a starter:

Whimbrel' gloaming:
roaming still/
my dreaming mind

When you’ve drank till you can drink no more
A dip in the ‘oggin’s a bore
To get home warm and dry
You need only rely
On that small shining light on the floor

.
A sailor walks back in his cups to the boat
Mistreads on the pontoon, in water he floats
Mayday MacHurley
There's a ladder here surely
Craobh Haven gives birth to the Pope

. . . anyway, have started a Haiku thread on STB if anyone wants to have a go . . .

On the west where the mountains are sheer.
Empty Harbour and Sea, I hold dear.
Yet, outside my boat,
Remain a wild ginger folk.
Cumberland, you call that clear?

Can anyone think of anything that rhymes with Culloden?
