For those pondering the next rung up the ladder of hygiene excellence, we'd recommend this;

It ain't cheap so may be used sparingly. One advantage is that visiting crew are less likely to down with food poisoning, and more likely to come back again. Cuticura Medicated Hand Cleansing Gel is available from most good chemists.

On the good ship Aquaplane, the alcahol based hand sterilising hygenic stuff was introduced before the baby wipes, so beyond may be before.

As for not giving the crew a dodgy gut, they may not be "the right stuff" if a few germs put them off. And having to invite them back instead of them inviting themselves is a good thing IMHO.

I don't know how much water you carry on your boat but I insist on my crew showering every week, wether they need it or not.
