Not Me :!:

I'm just saying that I get much amusement from some of the colregs posts on TOP. Especially those that degenerate into "handbags at dawn"

Are you on nightshift by any chance?
03.54 by my clock.

The joys of self employment, on a daily rate.

Started work at 19.30 on Wed, finished at 03.00 Thurs.

Started work at 13.00 Thurs, finished at 04.30 Fri.

Due to start at 04.30 Sat.

Unfortunately work is a bit scarce at the moment, think I'll have to try to pick up some casual driving - I've got my Cat 'C' ( Class 2 ) - Don't suppose anyone out there needs someone to drive a rigid truck.

Now that's been some thread drift on this one.

Just going to finish my beer and go to bed.

Night, night.

Ash

Hope you slept well, Ash.

It's my considered opinion that if people want to talk about hot air they should register with a web site such as plentyoffish.com where all manner of touchy-feely and half-baked theories are trotted out. In fact the web site caters for single people looking for dates - the sort of sad people who talk about hot air in front of their computers all day/night.

Enough of this. Having just returned from the now-famous Grand Cruise Of The Clyde (and Windermere). I have decided that having had an encounter with a large boat painted grey with M104 written on the side I need a copy of the Col Regs for Galley Slaves.

Is it acceptable to shout 'Oi! I'm under sails, mate - right of way', when he switches some large green lights on next to his white Ensign?

All caught up, Thanks.

Got up to the boat early evening Sat with the G/Kids as additional crew, had dinner on board then motored to Inveruglas and spent the night on the jetty there.

This was the grey funnel line minesweeper where I did my bit for queen & country :!:

If they switch on 3 green lights, it usually means they have got some gear being towed behind them. We used to tow this large loop of cable behind, and belt about 1000 amps through it to create an effin' great magnetic field in order to detonate the mines. Could be good fun at times . . . .

Are there huge mine fields near the Kames Hotel through the Burnt Isles that need detonating? A very drastic way of keeping punters away from the Royal Hotel at Tighnabruich. I logged the number as M104. They have a very aggessive team in the RIB.

Walney passed me in the Sound of Mull a couple of years ago. They seemed a friendly bunch and came out of the bridge to give me a wave as they drew abeam.

did this device huv ony fushing potenshal? If it did, an ah'm no saying that youse in ra grey funnel line wid'nae see ra deid fush in ra water, then ah huv ra veritable plan: ma friend hus an auld tub from which ah've caught yin or twa fush frae (contrary tae whit ra auld goat may hae telt youse itherwise, ah huv tae say) and ah've spent a wee bit oan ra generator frae B&Q - 1000watts so its michty powerful fer 50 smackers - if ah wus tae get this doon tae 5volts then ah calculate that ah wid hae 200amps available if ah wus tae nick some orra his rigging and drag it ahent ra boat?
