Ah, so, perhaps, you have visited the errmm gents' on the pier; a rather fine example of Victorian (or poss Edwardian) alignment with cleanliness and devotion to idealism in the realm of the the lavvy. Well worth a visit imho.

No but there is still the same amount of berthing available as there always has been. The part the work is getting done on is the inner harbour that never had pontoons before.

I've never been to Rothsay before so I didn't know the set up. There will be 7 possibly 9 boats so it may be worth checking before we descend on them. I'll pass that number on to the Cruise Director.
We spent Saturday night in Rothesay harbour. There were only three or four berths left at 4pm when we arrived so 7 boats would seem unlikely. There is a pontoon at the other side of the harbour which I believe is shallow but may not be a problem for trailer/sailers. There were still quite a number of the moorings free in the bay much later in the evening.
3 months on and not much change, piles are in for the pontoons now but a lot of under-pinning going on to the old pier as it has been subsiding since work started.
Plenty of berths available today but the long pontoon on the outside of the harbour looks like it's out of action, as you can see from the pic it's not connected to the main pier.

I've passed on all your helpful info to the cruise director. It seems that Rothesay is the usual first night stop for this cruise and it's not been a problem before.
I must say I'm starting to get a bit giddy now, only 4 sleeps to go.

Don't know if I will bump into you as I will be at Tarbert Sunday and Monday for the Bell Lawrie Scottish Series. I'm crewing on a 1720 Sports boat. Weather is looking good for the weekend.
