NARE affiliate programme

Post by Nick »

.
It looks as though yet again we have signed up with an affiliate programme that doesn't work in order to provide free advertising for someone!!

The NARE banner which appears on the top of most pages of the site at the moment is showing over 8,000 impressions but no clickthroughs.

Could a few of you click through to the site and post here to say you have done so? That way I will know for sure if clicks are being recorded.

Thanks,

Just clicked on it twice and absolutely nothing happened.

Having not noticed it previously I am now curious about what on Earth it is

It is working then . . .

Post by Nick »

. . .

I know it clicks through OK, just wasn't sure the clickthroughs were being recorded by the tracking software - but they are.

That means that although the banner has appeared no less than 8,000 times this month NO-ONE (prior to today) had clicked on it.

Not very effective, methinks.

I've never heard of them and the banner add doesn't actually say what they are so unless you hovver over it you don't really notice it as a clickable link.
That's only my opinion but it might help.

Click through

Well I've just clicked on it, so that should advance the count by 1. I would agree that it's not very obvious - it hadn't previously registered with me at all!

However, I do now have the May calendar - nice, eh? :)

That should be a bit more obvious . . .

Right,

I have persuaded the affiliate prog managers that the banner was rubbish because no-one knew what it was, and so there is now a new banner which is a little more obvious.

How many of you have had a browse round the Nare site and what did you think of it?

I just clicked on it, it must think I'm in Switzerland though because the offer isn't available in my area.

The banner is good though, you can't get much more specific than that.
