I missed it in t'other place because I am trying to keep out of it as much as possible, well during the day anyway.

It looks like a serious case of axe grinding - should be fun to follow it through !!

All gone now - last post from him is Jan. I presume the mod pulled it - although I would have thought they would have been delighted, BYM was a bit of a thorn in their side for a while.

Twas me

Yes and my name is Mike Bunce

I was invited down after previous meetings with the owners of said site, instead of living on my Macwester in Brittany.

Basically rather than cause any trouble here please feel free to email me through the forum and i will be as honest as possible.

To say that the said owners cost me and my familly a great deal of money, is being brief.

BTW i followed your wonderfull trip Nick and had hoped by now to do the same but the monies for it were swallowed up in the other adventure and my poor boat is now languishing on the hard in France

Amazingly for an espousal of freedom of speech, its amazing how quick the said oners were in shouting from the bushes and demanding that the site was taken down :)

Has complained to my hosting service as i called them cheats!!!! and con artists.

Hopefully it will be back up without the "abusive" words. Otherwise i will set up my server at home and then no one can take it down.

Freedom of speech as long as it is not derogatory to your self said very tongue in cheek

BTW Rowana hows your Macwester?

Welcome Macwester28

Hi Mike,

I had a look at the site before you took it down and it made interesting reading. Sorry to hear that your ISP caved in so quickly, but I have to say I was not entirely clear why you were so upset with the perpetrators of BYM.

As you pointed out though, it is just an amalgamation of newsfeeds - something anyone can do, and indeed the Scuttlebutt newsfeed is available here on the News page at http://www.bluemoment.com/news.html . Sadly the web is awash with useless yachting sites seeking to make a fast buck.

Anyway, you will find that posts with legitimate gripes are much less likely to be pulled here :)

Welcome aboard.

Hi Nick,

Have pm#d you.

Before being pulled the site got 19,004 hits and only went live at 08:47 this morning. Must be some interest.

Have to fly as i am driving all night!

Thanks for the welcome. (ps I went to school in Edinburgh and know Scotland well)
