Fan Heaters and Old Shore Power Consumer Units - Beware

Having run my fan heater at full chart for a while, the other day I noticed smoke coming from the consumer unit (shore power). The consumer unit came with the boat when I bought it 15 years ago, and was probably quite a bit older than that. It has an RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker), the main...

Re: Cut Off

Went up to the boat last Thursday and found that the Rest and Be Thankful had returned to a dual lane road, with the traffic lights gone. A joy to drive again with no delays. Before Christmas it was still the one lane traffic light system. Today, it was gloriously wet, a thaw has set in and the burn...

Bought new dock lines at Duncan’s Yacht Chandlers today, 16mm x 15m, eye one end, pre made. The cost is cheaper than the same line by the meter. Worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for new mooring warps.

Re: Enjoy Yer Suppers - Oidhche nan Seachd Suipearan

Oidhche nan Seachd Suipearan Is Gaelic for night of the seven suppers, a phrase used to describe the longest night in Scotland.

Anyway, too many sausage suppers for me as it is. Boat is back in the water, just a few things to sort then back sailing again.
