When stuff interferes with leisure time.
I hate when work interferes with my leisure time. My options were to sail along with the Cruise in Company from Rhu to WLT this weekend, or head to Kames where my mate is playing with a band, He was keeping a mooring for me. Guess what, I ended up having to carry out an essential repair on the car :...

Cheers guy's
I think I'll read the instructions on how to re-calibrate the Target Log. I take it that the log speed should match the GPS speed?

GPS speed V Through the water speed
Hi all I can't quite get my head round this :D While sailing from Millport last weekend, my GPS displayed the boat speed as 4.3 knots, while the NASA Target Log with a clean paddle wheel displayed 2.2 knots sailing into the oncoming tide. I'm assuming the tide was running 2 knots (didn't bother to c...

Holiday Weekend
I am about to head up to the boat for the weekend. Things to do are; Rig the jib sheets, outside / inside the shrouds? Will try both to see what's best. Get the outboard into the well, get it running. Might as well do the same with the tender's outboard. Check the electrics Clean the gunge off the h...

Re: Trailer near Oban?
Can't help with the hire of a trailer I'm afraid. For the long term, you could consider getting hold of a caravan chassis that can be adapted to suit the boat quite cheaply.

Re: Plastimo toilet not flushing
Actually thought about pouring in some warm water Wully, but wasn't sure if it would work. Will try that next time I'm up at the boat.

Re: Plastimo toilet not flushing
Thanks guy's
I found some new parts still in their wrappers in a box, along with new parts for a Yamaha outboard. These parts look like they belong to the pump assembly according to the Jabasco website. Lets hope it's a clean easy fix

Plastimo toilet not flushing
Hi gang. The Plastimo toilet on my new to me boat, is not sucking in water nor flushing. I checked the seacocks were open, and move the dry/wet lever. If the toilet is not used for a while, is it necessary to prime by filling the bowl with some water first? I am a bit reluctant to strip it down in c...

Update
After considering many boats, I eventually bought the Dufour 1800 that was in very good condition. It was a bit over the budget I had set aside, but it ticked all the boxes and came with many accessories like, tender & outboard, cradle and a new head sail to name a few. I am looking forward to w...

Thinking about this boat
Toying with the idea of selling my Hurley 20 to get something bigger. Spotted a nice Dufour 1800 where I am berthed at Rhu Marina, but just a bit too much just now at £5200, but not saying no. Anyway, spotted this http://www.gumtree.com/p/boats-kayaks-jet-skis/virgo-voyager-sailing-yacht/1096273380 ...
