Here I am busy telling people their websites need to be responsive and mobile-friendly and guess what - the Webcraft corporate site isn't.

So I have hastily knocked together a new one, which I believe is just about ready to be released into the wild. Before I do though it would be of enormous help if any of you who are at a loose end could have a look through and point out any obvious structural, typographical or grammatical errors.

Very Impressive Nick - good stuff.
The "Prices" section possible needs future proofing by suggesting that these are current prices rather than long-term fixed ones.

Looks good on my ancient Firefoxed laptop, not good on the Hudl2. Hudl starts with a page of menus needing scrolling to reach the pretty bits.

Just had a quick look on my Windows phone.

Seems to work well.

Haven't looked for spelling mistooks.

Well, there must be somethig pretty weird about the Hudl . . . Here's what it looks like on the Nexus7, which is also an Android tablet:



It should look like this on the Hudl as well.

Just tried my Hudl2.

Works fine on portrait, it not on landscape.

Don't think that I can do a screenshot at the moment.

What is wrong with the landscape view?

When you open the menu all you will see is menu items - that is just the way these things work.

Seems to work OK on my Samsung phone. I probably wouldn't use it on my phone as the screen is a bit small, and my eye is getting a wee bit dim.

I tend to use my "proper" computer for the internet anyway. I think using the phone is a bit of a gimmick as the screen is just too small.

P1. "18 years and counting". This will require updating every year.

Week 5: Terms. 14 days from when? Invoice? completion?
Testimonials: Simon Davies: missing space in "... thanks,we..."; and capitalise "...nick..."
Debbie Joy: spelling.. "photo's" (though might be her spelling not yours??)

Pedantry is excellent in this context. All fixed except the 14 days thing, which says 'site goes live. Invoice ins now due. Terms are 14 days' - I think that is pretty clear.

More pedantry from me:

Home page, second line from the bottom: "At this particular moment in time" is a phrase that grates horribly on me. Quite apart from the fact that you cannot have moments in much other than time, it seems unnecessarily wordy. "At the moment", "At this time", "Currently" or "These days" would seem preferable to me.

First testimonial (Gailey Law) "Nick built a very professional website for much quicker than I expected ..." Isn't right, but I can't work out what's gone wrong - typo or missing/extra word perhaps.

"Get an expert". Inconsistent capitalisation - to maintain consistency with other headings should be "Get An Expert" or "Get an Expert". Also, in the last line, you need an acute accent on the final e of resumé.

WordPress: "... used by more than 23.3% of the world’s top 10 million websites." The "more than" implies a degree of approximation which sits uncomfortably with the precision of "23.3%". I would be happier with "more than 23%" or even "nearly a quarter".

That's all I spotted, I'm afraid

I've taken all those suggestions on board.

The active site has now been moved to http://www.webcraft.co.uk/ and you can see the latest changes there.

I liked 'nearly a quarter' and have changed it accordingly.

This sort of thing is really helpful, particularly when a site has been put together rapidly, as this one has.

What is wrong with the landscape view?

When you open the menu all you will see is menu items - that is just the way these things work.

On landscape, you see lines of text instead of your web graphic.

I'll photograph it when I get home, and post.
