What a lovely day was yesterday on the Clyde - wind, sun, warmth. T'was a fine day for a sail even though at the lighter times there was about 30deg of wind shear 'tween top and bottom of my mast. It was while trying to deal with said shear and also trying not to confuse a Western Ferry as to my intentions that the raucous sound of an outboard came and there, not exactly screaming along but definitely exceeding hull speed, was a Macgregor 26. First one I've ever noticed. It didn't look very comfy when it hit the Argyll Flyer's wash though.

Don't forget to put it in the log book along with the cetaceans etc.

One was anchored aft of us in Port Mor, Muck in June, using an anchor setup more lightweight that the one I used to use when cruising in a mirror dinghy as a teenager ( it turned out he was hanging off a ridiculously long, thin, all rope rode). Needless to say he drifted "onto" us in the night, whilst everyone else in the anchorage swung to their chains, lesson learnt - avoid.
