.
Stornoway Festival of Sail + Hebridean Celtic Music Festival

I plan to sail Fairwinds single handed up to Stornoway, partly in memory of Kathy and partly because it is such a bloody amazing week. We made a lot of real friends on our previous visits, and I look forward to meeting them all again.

Stornoway Marina now has 70 pontoon berths.

Weather permitting I plan to be in Gairloch the Saturday before for the Big Boat Charity Event. Some of the Stornoway boats may come over for it, and we can sail back across the Minch in company.

Anyone else likely to make it ?

I'll no be there this year, more's the pity, 'cos WHYW clashes. Apparently the Commie Games have dibs on the 1st week of August.

It will certainly be a possibility for us, look out for a boat now green so dark it's almost black. A bit of a mouthful, that.

I won't be back this year but having been the last 2 years would highly recommend it to anyone. Very nice people and great events. Last 2 years beautiful weather hope they have 3 in a row!

Albion should be hanging off a friend's mooring in Loch Seaforth by then (courtesy of no1 son), so we're aiming to get up to Stornoway for at least one day of HebCelt, then sail back to Linnhe.

Unfortunately I will be unable to get there this year although I do think that the combination of HebCelt and the sailing week provide the very best that our fair land has to offer
