Aja's plans are still abit up in the air at the moment. Original plan was to to go and see a bit of Ireland this summer, but as yet, nothing is hard and fast.
There is still the hankering to visit new anchorages and re-visit favourite places on the west coast however.
Holidays will be 16th July getting back to the Clyde 10th August.
If the west coast wins - who will be about at these times? I know Claymore might be sitting in all its splendour in Tobermory about 16th July who else?
What have others got planned?

We're taking a leaf out of Stingo's book this year ie "We haven't got a plan, and we're sticking to it".
Last year, we were definite about spending time in the outer isles. So we spent a couple weeks sailing into cold northerlies, in between running for shelter. Big mistake. We'd plenty of time but chose to fight the wind rather than use it. Turned out that the weather in Argyll and the southern Inner Hebrides was much better, but of course we missed it. So this year we'll be carrying charts for evrything on the west coast between the Lizard and the Orkneys.
Any particular area of Ireland?

Only have three weeks, so time is a bit limited. I would like to do Ireland properly, being able to stop off and do the touristy bit as well with short hops in between.
There would be a daily insistence for Craft shops from one particular member of crew. This can degenerate into a loud whining noise if allowed to continue for more than a couple of days. Initially had me looking for problems with the gearbox.... but that's another tale.
South-eastern corner would be about our limit this year...

Errm, yes [cough][changes subject rapidy]I'm afraid we missed Strangford and Carlingford Loughs; maybe another time. But the area from Kerry to Donegal is fabulous. Well worth a visit if conditions allow.

My plans aren't settled yet. Ireland is one option, Western Isles is another. And then there's the heroic Shetland - Norway option...
Not too sure about timings yet: probably early July. I have to be in London 19 & 20, otherwise July's clear. I should have a better idea tomorrow (uncertainty over a possible meeting last week of June...)
