A much battered & mouse nibbled Maestral 5 yellow rubber duck has set off on its journey North into the gathering gloom. In glorious sunshine I met Ash near Stoke for a coffee & a natter & to hand over the decrepit relic to his care, err thats; the dead boat not me.

Look out for its arrival oop north shortly.

I am happy to report that the said yellow peril is now safely in Scotland, ensconced in my shed, to be exact. Don't think that I've got any mice in my truck cab!!

It was great to meet a forumite face to face. Thanks for the coffee, Arghiro.

I'll maybe meet another forumite on the next stage of the delivery.

Ash

Wonderfull stuff this interwebby thing innit?

I doubt there were any residual mice in it as I dragged it out & refolded it & Fudge (our Jill Russell) paid no heed whatsoever. had there been the remotest whiff of recent rodent she would have been in like a shot to eat it.

No me, Ash was the "mastermind" (& prime mover!) behind the sscheme. But no worries, if it only ends up as a fender, being robbed as spares or you sell it on as a towable Banana toy, I wll not be bothered & the good lady is delighted that I have actually got rid of some junk at last! Sadly, it has raised her hopes that more may go in the future & I have to thinkk about how to let her down gently.

Is this the device to be used for reducing draught during the Forth and Clyde transit?

That was the plan. However, once he sees the size of the mouse chewed holes in the port sponson that plan may need some modification. Also, given the amount of water in my bilges on Thursday (I forgot to grease the stern gland before leaving her 5 weeks ago) & the fact that my waterline was not visibly affected, I doubt that one dinghy will make a jot of difference. Especially as it will be damned hard to get the whole of the dink actually under the water.

But good luck & I await developments with interest.
