Anyone know anything of this vessel? Photo taken at Port Bannatyne Marina. I have a feeling that it's been discussed before but don't know where.

Was in Peterhead either last year or the year before. Fugly looking thing. Converted oil rig lifeboat I think, possibly Norwegian?

That would make sense. Didn't want to peer too closely as there was someone on board. She had what looked like twin rudders but they were fixed to a substantial fixed framework so they must have been daggerboards to keep her straight. She looks as though she would survive a 360 degree but she also looks as though she would 360 quite happily - I wonder if she has a chunk of ballast hung under her.

If she's a converted offshore lifeboat she will need the equivalent of her intended operational POB in ballast to self right reliably..

If there was someone on board, why on earth didn't you go & ask? :shake:

I've never met a boat owner yet that wasn't happy to tell a interested fellow sailor EVERYTHING about their boat. You do need to think of a couple of flattering comments to intersperse amongst the questions; & a bottle or 3 of beer or 1 of wine/ spirits help as well.
