Tayvallich

The Tayvallich Mooring Association have just called me to say that my name is now at the top of their list and I have a mooring. Apparently all I have to do is buy the ground tackle off the previous incumbent and I can then moor my boat there. Not knowing the history of the ground tackle would an offer of £50 be reasonable?

When was it last serviced and by whom?

£50 is cheap as chips for a mooring if its in good condition.

Lucky you - a lovely spot. I've stayed in someone's caravan at Castle Sween. I've heard that the moorings are much sought after, and that the going rate for an exchange is in the 1,000s..... ... :oldtroll:

Were you on the waiting list for very long?

You couldn't cope with the drive, it's so so far compared with your current trip to Kip.

50 guineas may be closer to the mark.

Aquaplane may not be able to keep the boat on the hard standing forever as they need it for car parking (it's right at the front near the Chart Room).

Do we know of anyone who lives nearby where we can park the boat outside their house? We promise we won't make too much of a noise scraping the bottom or drop too much antifoul on the road.

I think that I know someone, but, iirc, the turn off the main road is a bit tight and steep..... :oldtroll:
