Another Claymore

we saw another boat called Claymore today. It wasn't Claymore's Claymore Claymore, or Sahona's Claymore, Sahona, or the other one.

It was a Merry Fisher in Holy Loch called Claymore. The bloke was thinking he had a unique name for his boat untill he saw another Claymore in Largs soon after he had named his new boat. Bummer.

Tidy looking boat though, Stormy got a pic, to follow when on a better Web connection.

I didn't name her, so I can't claim the credit for picking such a unique name !!

Mistral is as common as muck, there was one of them in Port Bannatyne last night, good looking boat though. Maybe only good looking boats can be called Mistral.

I think that she's a permanent berther - I always worry that they use her length when they calculate my overnight fee!!

Chiron is as common as muck too, loads of them on the Particulars site, many of them Centaurs.

Quite a few Seminoles too, but not as many as Chirons.

Not many "Sahonas" - it's a nice anchorage, and we were racking our brains 'cos the previous owner had named the boat after his hotel/restaurant.
We had a "foinaven" once, whose original owner had laboured long and hard over the name only to berth next to another in Largs. Then we had "Colymbus" and couldn't think of a better name for a green boat. We were picked up on a Spanish marina computer for already existing.
Then the colymbiform was disallowed. The big green duck evidently doesn't match Darwinian rules.
If I could have Foinaven back as a name it would be favourite and , given time, it will be a Munroe.

A long time ago climbed this one and wondered if ever a horse was named after it, would I bet the farm on it?
