Has Claymore lost the plot?

.
The old goat is proposing over on TOP that CC2012 should take place at a later date than the traditional weekend. Why he should seek to advertise this august event in that nest of vipers is beyond me, but I for one propose that we stick to the May weekend as it is a fine excuse to drag ourselves out on the water earlier than might otherwise be the case.

In May, he'll still be dithering around asking for advice on mooring strops, what gauge of chain to use, what kind of tender to have, where to keep it etc etc so that'll be why he's trying to organise something in August......and he may not be finished by then!

We all make mistakes - it's why they put rubbers on the end of pencils

Hmmm . . . did you see the recent Ocean Wanderer thread? Or read some of the things that were said about the Chandlers?
Vipers are quite cuddly by comparison.

didn't read it - linky?
TBH, I behave myself in there after my second ban for being rude to some tit or other. I do try to be nice in my new persona but sometimes it is difficult. Some of the posters in BPO are eye watering in there stupidity. I'm surprised there aren't more accidents and drownings.
Hey-ho. Takes all sorts. Luckily the vast majority of the spanners seem to be Darn Sarf.

I thought discussing topics from, and goings-on on TOP was bad form on this forum. That the heid bummer should start such a thread just to denigrate a man who once mixed with royalty but is now, obviously, so far into his dotage as to have no idea where he is, never mind the date, is worthy of TOP at its worst. Surely we should have sympathy and remember fondly those days gone by when his mentis was a tad more compus.

We usually meet up at either Craobh, Dunstaffnage or Kerrera on Thursday, with those unable to make Thusday going directly to Friday's chosen destination, which tends to be weather dependent. More times than not this has been Tobermory, but we always live in hope of more exotic ports. One memorable year we spent the Friday night in Colonsay then circumnavigated Jura to spend Saturday at Ardfern before proceeding to our usual end-of-cruise rendezvous, Puilladobhrain and the Last Supper at the Tigh an Truish.
Small sailie boaties are always welcome as it means the rest of us have an excuse to sail slowly and so hide our appalling lack of skill

Sounds like a plan...
Sail?
Will I be shot at dawn ,for a week with blunt bullets ,if I dare use the engine? ( whilst steering from inside with a beverage in my paw? )

This Darn Sarf spanner and TOP dweller would like to register interest in the 2012 Chentlemans Cruise.
I have at least drunk a couple of pints in the Trousers, so not an entire noob.
My pathetic evidence credentials of local experience here.
