I was considering it in a vague sort of way but the thread on TOP about the addition of aspirational lifestyle attractions like jewellery, fast cars, etc. has put me right off the idea. I went a few years ago and was not overwhelmed by the experience. There appeared to be no bargains on offer in the chandlers and not that many of them to browse. For the cost and effort involved I am much more likely to go to the Paris Salon Nautique (on this week) - travel costs are about the same and the time I was there it was much more oriented to sailing.

Not this year but if I was I'd make a weekend of it and see the Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition at the National Gallery and the Arctic Photos Exhibition at the Palace.

I'm think of going, but only because the Victoria owners' association has coaxed Chuck Paine over to give an evening talk and the boat show might fill in a bit of time before that. Also I'm hoping that some countercultural types will sock it to the rich with an Occupy the Sunseeker Stand protest.

Can I set up a protest camp in my Mirror Dinghy in the middle of the show?
Our local railway company started operating direct trains from Cleckhuddersfax to London just in time for the show.
